Don’t you find it boring to read the eternal ‘best & worst dress’ from the international film festivals of Cannes 2013? We thought it would be more interesting to observe on how to pull off a red carpet moment, in case we got invited to one. Here is a list of things you need to remember when selecting your red carpet outfit.
First of all, you need to remember that you will be standing against the color red from the (well duh) red carpet. There are three elements in this Cannes’ red carpet picture: the red carpet, the photographers in black suits, and their ivory skin. The more contrast you get from all those three elements, the more you will stand out.
See how Aishwarya Rai’s picture doesn’t have the same impact as Selita Ebanks’ ?
Or you can always try the red on red look like Isla Fisher. It’s like you are part of the carpet naturally, in a good way, of course.
The Bigger, the better! where else can you rock a dress with the width of an apartment in Paris? (Not literally of course.) While you have the chance, go all the way! Be creative with it, like Alyson Le Borges.
To see a giant red block of flooring will be boring after awhile. Give them a show of patterns and don’t forget to add drama into it.
Or even better, give them a show with your friend. Like what Lana del Rey & Florence Welsch did: a clash of two very different patterns, but somehow giving an impeccable kodak moment.
So what do you want to wear next time you receive a red carpet invitation? Will you give them color? Volume? Or patterns? No matter which dress you choose just remember to give them hell of a poise to pull it off.
