Diving in a sea of treasures at Marché aux Puces St. Ouen

Saturday morning, 9:30. We meet at metro station Porte de Clignancourt. The day doesn’t look bright at all; as a matter of fact it’s rainy and cloudy like it’s often the case in Paris. However, this is going to change soon, as we are about to be submerged in an ocean full of vintage brand names that will brighten up our day.

First stop at the fantastic vendor David Roy, which is a wonderful vintage store with gorgeous selections of designer bags, shoes, jewelry and also clothes from our beloved brands like Chanel, Dior, Givenchy and YSL. All the to-die-for brands that most ladies will love!

By this time we are already feeling inspired. There is no doubt all the precious articles we are seeing in this store have something to do with this.  Even the salesperson, quite a serious but fashionable woman, is kind enough to answer a couple of questions we want to ask her; which is great, taking into account, that we are taking pictures all over the place and usually shop assistants don’t fancy that.

Is there an item that buyers ask for the most? I wouldn’t say an item, but a brand, buyers come here asking for Chanel.

Where do you get the pieces you sell? They come from particular collections, we make sure to select each item we are selling.

If you are looking for unique accessories like vintage jewelry, check out this gorgeous jelwelry below.

The second store we walk in is “Aux Trésors de Babeth”.  First thing we see, a huge collection of Louis Vuitton accessories; shoes, tiny wallets, and scarfs placed side-by-side and we just can’t take our eyes off of them.

So this time we are not wasting any time and we are heading directly to interview the owner, lucky us, he is there, big smile on his face ready to answer anything as if the whole thing was set to be like this. Here are some of his answers.

Where do all the brand name products come from?
Some people come and I buy certain items. Some people bring things to me to sell. Also we get some pieces from auctions.

What is the more popular brand?
Chanel. Especially for the young teenagers coming form China and Russia.

What kind of products sell the most?
Bags and Jewelry.

During Fashion week, do many customers come by?
Yes, many people come but they don’t actually buy they just take photos. Fashion bloggers come too, but all they want to do is to get information on products and places. They are looking to get inspired.
