YES! Tom Greyhound, the South Korean multi-brand store, has just opened in Paris. Situated on 19 rue Saintonge, the fashion savy among us will not be disappointed with this delightful new addition to the haut-Marais district.
Owned by the Hyundai Department Store Group, Tom Greyhound, originates in Seoul, South Korea. The success of the concept store has allowed it to open its first international post in Paris, but is looking in the future to open up spaces in the likes of New York and London.
Immediately upon entering, one is transformed into a world of serenity and calm. The influence of its Korean origins is evident but not overwhelming. Renowned Parisian architects Pierre Beucler and Jean-Christophe Poggioll designed the store’s interior. White walls, natural woods and mirrored surfaces create the tropical yet minimalist and sophisticated environment. There are a lot of collections to be seen but have been cleverly curated giving the customer plenty of space to browse, relax, try on and get cosy in the tranquil space. Upstairs one can even hang out on the large sofa and choose from a variety of the latest fashion publications such as i-D and Another magazine to read. If that’s not enough, then the friendly Tom Greyhound team will provide you with their own specially made coffee.
So what’s on offer and what makes this store so different from other well-known Parisian concept stores?
‘The store is sophisticated but offers something unique, we mix established talents such as Kenzo amongst new designers like Kris Van Assche, this is really important for us, to support new emerging talents’ says Julien, Tom Greyhound’s assistant store manager.
‘We are very different from places such as The Broken Arm whom we love as a store, however even though we hold a few similar brands, the content is different’, Julien affirms.
With brands such as Christopher Kane, Kenzo, System, Alexander McQueen, Laura Laurens, JW Anderson and many more we have already racked up just a few euros in our curious minds whilst browsing the Tom Greyhound collections. The accessories are too placed intricately and captivatingly on display, we both fell in love with a beautiful black backpack from the brand Want Les Essentials de la Vie.
Desirable but also extremely wearable one cannot help be seduced by both the stores ambience and its products. This refreshingly new and innovative concept store in Paris is definitely worth a visit!
