Making a documentary one day and Dior‘s campaign the next, Rihanna is really leading a fulfilling life of dreams. Yup, the Bajan princess has been chosen to be the face of Dior in the brand’s newest campaigns joining the ranks of Marion Cotillard and Jennifer Lawrence. This is big news because Rihanna made history being the first woman of color to be the brand’s ambassador. The singer was asked how she felt about checking such an accomplishment off her wish list. The singer explains, “It feels fantastic. It is such a big deal for me, for my culture, for a lot of young girls of any color. I think to be acknowledged by Dior means a lot, as a woman, to feel beautiful — to feel elegant and timeless.”
The “Diamonds” singer will be in the brand’s fourth video in the series as Christian Dior has confirmed. The video of the campaign which has been shot by Steven Klein is called “Secret Garden”, will be released later this year. We believe that Rihanna will not have trouble disappointing those figures with her performance. Not only is her role great news for diversity in the fashion industry, but it’s also proof that 2015 is going to be the year of Rihanna. She also stars in her first animation film, Home, of which she recorded the soundtrack, and is releasing her eighth studio album this year.
