Trends for next season from Fashion Weeks A/W 2015
During the fashion week, like every season, fashion brands sent out models to the runways in many different looks. Examinig them, we have come up with a list of trends for the next season. Playing the similarities game, we have inferred the trends that we think shouldn’t be lacking in your wardrobe for the next fall/winter. Here are six main themes which reappeared at different shows during the last fashion week. You may want to identify them quickly when they hit the stores at the beginning of Autumn. Of course, other trends have emerged from the collections, but we have tried to choose the most relevant ones.
1. Black mood
Leather have an important role both in details and completing total looks, and will remain in our wardrobes to give us the rebellious touch we love. Black-on-black layers help to create this gothic look.
2. Metallic fabrics
Dresses, skirts, coats and all kinds of garments shined on many runways last fashion week. We saw a variety of sparking materials, such as knitwear, that gives a retro look to this coming season. We also spotted some mirrored metallic accessories, as seen at Moschino or Christopher Kane for example.
3. Wild animal prints
Designers played with these prints in different types of fabrics. We saw it on long fur coats, among others. New versions of animal prints embrace bright colors but the classical leopard stands out.
4. Handcrafts style
This eclectic look includes romantic patterns and different embroideries. Designers get inspired by the craftsmen’s work and add art and culture to their outfits. Some of the garments also synchronized the metallic fabrics trend.
Once again, designers took inspiration from the 70s but following the retro vision: using the garments as wallpapers for geometric prints, especially outerwear. Automn colours are predominant, such as dark yellows and browns. Some designers give a 3D perspective to their fabrics.
This will remain an important garment for the next season. We will see it in different tailored styles, shapes and materials, even in leather. The style of cape with holes for the arms will be the star.
