It’s true, Gisele Bundchen is set to retire from the catwalk. But don’t worry, the 34-year-old model is not quitting entirely. For almost twenty years, the Brazilian bombshell, known for her long legs and beach babe physique, has been an icon on the runway. Gisele, the highest paid model will hang up her heels at São Paolo Fashion Week in April, where she will be walking her final show for Colcci, according to Brazilian publication Moda Estadão. The mother of two, has not only been an angel in the Victoria Secret shows, but has also made high profile appearances at the Chanel S/S 2015 show in Paris last September, and recent years at the opening of Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta, Versace, and Dolce & Gabbana, among others.
Knowing that the retirement age for models on the runway is in their 30’s, Gisele is following other top models who have retired such as, Cindy Crawford, Brooke Shields, and Naomi Campbell. All three of these top models have continued their careers as actresses in different movies, Naomi Campbell had a TV show, and they also continued shooting campaigns for different brands. So we can see that this is not the end of Gisele Bundchen, it could just be the beginning. She came, she saw, she conquered, and she’s off to her home country, where she’ll reportedly close out her career on the catwalk. However, the supermodel will still star in campaigns, editorials, and yes, we’ll always have Instagram!
