Our favorite looks from Bridal Fashion Week Spring 2016
The start of spring means the start of Bridal Fashion Week in New York City. Since Thursday April 16th, we’ve seen beautiful gowns elegantly striding the runway by designers like Angel Sanchez, Amsale Abarra, Lela Rose, Reem Acr, and so much more. Like any fashion week, there have been countless noticeable trends such as cut-out dresses, plunging necklines, feather detailing, and flouncy sleeves. Designers have used these trends with a combined grace to create sophisticated and beautiful gowns. Bridal fashion week may not be over yet, but we’ve combined our favorite looks from what we’ve seen so far on the runway.
One of the many beautiful looks by Angel Sanchez. His collection involved a lot of embellished floral appliqués and pastel colored gowns. But this particular piece is stunning and happens to be Mr. Sanchez’s personal favorite out of the entire collection. The metallic lace jumpsuit with an architectural bodice is perfect for those brides who are planning a destination wedding.
Last year Amsale played with gold accents throughout her gowns, and this season she brought it back in a chic minimalistic way. This look is just glamorous and plain eye-catching. The collection is a mix of elegance and bohemian styles and is perfect for the traditional bride.
Playing with the feather trend, Lela Rose made waves with her ultra glamorous feather skirt and sultry bustier gown. It’s just the right amount of sassy and sweet. It is said that Lela has a very romantic spirit which can be seen throughout this collection. She describes it as, “Enchanting. Light. Ethereal.” which is the perfect way to describe these stunning wedding gowns.
This collection by Reem Acra, titled “Everybody is a Star”, perfectly balances the detailing of sparkling lace embroidery with minimalistic looks. Acra used the plunging necklines trend throughout the collection, as well as a boat neckline as seen on this dress. The lining of the gown features the sparkling lace embroidery topped with a small layer of tulle, giving the dress a seductive but elegant look. We especially love the sheer illusion bodice with lace detailing, which just adds to its sex appeal.
