April 10 2015, Dior and I, was released in theaters. Written by The Orchard and directed by Frederic Tcheng (co-director ‘Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel’), this movie is by far one of the most honest films about the fashion industry in a long time. The world of haute couture, historically, has not been an easy one to crack. And the famous house of Christian Dior isn’t usually quick to let people into its inner circle, either.
This movie brings the audience inside the story of the Christian Dior fashion house, giving priviledge to the behind-the-scenes looks created by Raf Simons’ first haute couture collection. During this time, Raf Simons pulls together a whole fashion show arriving in the wake of disgraced predecessor, John Galliano. Watching the movie, the audience can really feel the stress and excitement of having a whole collection ready in just 8 weeks. The movie is presented by multiple icons such as, Marion Cotillard, Anna Wintour, Sidney Toledano, and Pieter Mulier.
With the pressure on from day one, it’s up to Simons and the gifted artisans who work with him to not only pull it off, but deliver to the expected Dior standard! Watch the movie and let us know what you think of Raf Simon’s ability to reach his goal!! Do you believe he met the expected standards of Dior?
