Among all the brands of lingerie, there are some that make us dream at the mere mention of their name. Aubade, Passionata or Wonderbra are just some of them… But what about Victoria’s Secret? Victoria’s Secret is one of those mythical lingerie brands that we associate with a universe of its own. Who has never heard of the brand, its spectacular shows and of course, the “angels”—the brand’s muses—considered among the most beautiful models in the world?
This year’s show took place on November 11, 2015. It celebrated its 20th anniversary in a spectacular style. With 47 models gracing the catwalk, including 10 new Angels and a handful of new faces, the high-octane show featured live performances from Ellie Goulding, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd.
This show marked the debut for well-known models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid as well.

Victoria’s Secret Angel Lily Aldrigde wore the Fireworks Fantasy Bra designed exclusively for the show by world-renowned jeweller Mouawad. A piece of art for its own sake which is worth $2 million. Both the bra and the detachable belt, are adorned with over 6,500 precious gems, including diamonds, blue topaz, yellow sapphires and pink quartz all set in 18-karat gold.
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015 will air on television in 185 countries on Wednesday 9 December at 9pm – as the show is displayed with commercials and backstage movie clips etc., the show needs editing which explains the long waiting time.

Everything started in San Francisco in 1977 when Roy Raymond feels embarrassed to enter a lingerie store to buy lingerie to his wife. An uncomfortable experience that got him a new business idea. He saw a market opportunity to create a place where men could buy lingerie for their wives without being judged. The concept was born and the brand opened its first store in San Francisco’s Shopping Centre. Victoria is the name chosen in reference to the reign of Queen Victoria in the nineteenth century, evoking the boudoir’s tight corsets.
Several shops and a mail order catalog followed, which created a rapid success for the brand in the first year. Five years later the founder sold the company for 4 million dollars. A decision he probably regretted, because Victoria’s Secret in the early 90’s became the first lingerie retailer on the US market. Then on August 26, 1993, Raymond committed suicide by leaping off the Golden Gate Bridge at the age of 46.
Since 1995, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has become a real event in the US, watched by more than 8 million viewers. The show is now famous for the musical appearances, which to this date have featured Rihanna, Kanye West and Katy Perry.
