Holybelly: caffeine hit edition
Okay yes, some of you may have picked up on my obsession with great cafés and coffee’s in Paris. Let me introduce you to Holybelly, situated in the 10th district of Paris (if you haven’t noticed, this is the area where things are hip and happening). Their motto ‘it’s good because we care’, fits their persona like a glove.
With Parisians from near and far searching for their next hit of coffee, the crowd of people inside the café did not surprise me. Offering breakfast and lunch as well as a wide range of ways to get your coffee intake for the day, Holybelly makes the perfect coffee shop, and yes their food is also to die for. I doubt you need much written convincing here, my images will entice you enough to make your visit.
Lets start with the coffee, or in my case a new found favourite, their chai latte. It’s like fairies dancing in your mouth. The perfect combination of spices with a milky froth, this latte is like a dessert rather than a caffeine hit. Their holy brew comes from Bellville; a company that supplies many cool cafés like this, in Paris.
Their experienced chef is constantly bringing new skills to the table allowing Holybelly to offer an ever-changing menu. November offered a few delicious meals, one in particular, which seduced me with its aroma. Braised pork stacked on top of a cabbage, bacon and raisin salad, carefully placed in a bowl, which was polished clean (by me).
Get over to Holybelly and let the smell of roasted coffee beans lure you in from the streets. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram, as they are brilliant at informing their customers on what is happening and what is on the menu. Oh yes, last tip of the day; get there early or late (especially during the lunch hour) because this place gets packed and you may struggle to grab a seat.
