On the hunt for the perfect ‘chocolat chaud’

Winter is upon us and Christmas spirit it’s just everywhere. Lovely festive wreaths decorate every shop in Paris and every step you take in the city it’s an invitation to surrender to the delights of the city. As the temperatures keep going down here are some recommendations so you can visit glorious and chocoholic places around Paris to keep you warm and enjoy this beautiful season in a company of a delicious and decadent hot chocolate mug.

And of course there’s no better city to enjoy this holiday season than Paris. So this time we’d like to take you to the neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, an ex former bohemian retreat, which is now  one the coolest areas in Paris with its sidewalks cafes and design shops. Here you can find Un Dimanche à Paris located in a discrete alley near Odeon metro station. The place at first sight is quite minimal and elegant and you will get the same feeling once you enter. Although it offers a wide variety of delicious desserts from macaroons to a very well executed sweet tartelettes, the salon de thé is quite simple, which makes a perfect place to enjoy brunch with friends and of course to taste a delicious cup of steaming hot chocolate. If you fall in love with the chocolat chaud, you will probably find heavenly the chocolate shop next door with some cool creations made by the pastries chefs from Un dimanche à Paris. And those who are even more curious can discover tasting courses and learn from a very cool and experience team.

Walking in the same neighborhood you’ll find another really nice place called Il Gelato del Marchese located in the Rue de Quatre Vents, this little salon de thé definitely will catch your eye, its beautiful accents will persuade you to discover the little sweets hidden in there. From its windows the inside decoration  invites you to enjoy a delightful cup of their perfect mildly broth but a thick hot chocolate, just like a velvety treat. The Louis XVI resemblance decorations make this place a perfect spot to spoil yourself while reading a nice book. I promise you won’t be disappointed by this enticing atmosphere.
