It’s that time of the year again where the streets are alight, gifts are aplenty and the air smells like cinnamon and love. One of my favourite things about Christmas is seeing beautiful festive store windows! So let me take you on a tour of my favourite places around Paris.
For the Polar Bear Enthusiast:
If you love Polar Bears riding ski lifts and pretending to do people things, head over to Galeries Lafayette and be prepared for cuteness (but also be prepared to push your way through many holiday spectators).
For the Disney Fanatic:
OH MY GOD IT’S DISNEY! If there is one thing I love in this world more than rice pudding (I really really love rice pudding), it would be Disney. I admit this window is also at Galeries Lafayette but just off the side of the main building so it is a lot quieter. So head over and grab your Christmas selfie with the (stuffed toy version) cast of Frozen!
For the Chocolate Lover:
If you love chocolate, you know about Lindt, and while they don’t have a moving display in their window, they capture the warmth and essence of the season perfectly. For adorable Santa-clad teddy bears and a sweet “warming” fireplace Lindt is your one-stop-window-shop.
For the Music & Theatre Maniac:
For the hustle and the bustle of the music and theatre scene, walk down the windows at Printemps Haussman. Red curtains over the windows go up and little robotic animals perform a musical number, or watch some robotic wooden legs do the can-can legs as they model some heels!
For the Spirit of Christmas:
This final location is not technically a window, but it truly represents the spirit of Christmas. The Place Vêndome and the streets leading up to it are full of glamorous sparkling trees and beautifully decorated luxury designer store windows. Honestly, the countless sparkling trees make it worth the trip. They recently took down my favourite Christmas tree back home in Scotland and now I’ve found exact replicas in a beautiful plaza in Paris. Best Christmas Ever ♥
